Reach out to SRA staff or the SRA Board Treasurer and let them know you are interested.  A staff member will get you an application. If there is an open position and mutual interest, you will be nominated for membership and appointed by a vote of the Board.

The budgeting process typically begins in the spring.  A draft budget is usually completed and reviewed by the Board at their August meeting.  This budget is then shared with community at Town Hall meetings in the early fall to solicit their feedback.  Once finalized, the budget is proposed for community approval at the Annual General meeting in October.

SRA creates two budgets every year.  The Operating Budget covers the SRA staff and facility, as well as expenses for administrative and maintenance activities.  The Capital Budget covers spending on repair and replacement of SRA capital assets like roads, gates, and stormwater systems. 

A Reserve Study is a Capital Budget planning tool prepared by an outside firm that helps SRA model its long-term capital asset maintenance and replacement costs and determine the financial reserves that should be maintained to cover these costs.
